WHO IS JESUS?

I'm a Christian, so of course, as a Christian, I recognize the New Testament as the living Word of God. It's the new and better covenant, it didn't do away with the old covenant, it perfected it. The New Testament is not "politically correct". Jesus is the spotless, sinless, lamb of God. The sacrifices of animals in the old covenant was a prelude to the ultimate sacrifice of the Son of God.
Hebrews 10. When Jesus says I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me John 14:6 He excludes any other belief or religion as a means of salvation.

Matthew 16:15-17 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. If Jesus is who He claims to be, the Son of the Living God, then instructions God inspired Paul to write in Romans about obtaining salvation ought to be taken seriously: Romans 10:8-10 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Who is Jesus?

He is the seed of woman:
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Galatians 4:3-5 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

He is the Son of God, born of a virgin:
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us)*.

Luke 1:26-35
26
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named * * Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 and, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

He existed eternally with God:
John 1:1-18 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, * (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

He is the heir to David's throne:
Luke 1:30-33 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
OF JESUS: Revelation 5:5 5
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of * the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

He is my Saviour, my Redeemer, my Advocate, my Lord, and my King.

IS JESUS THE MESSIAH?

Messiah :
The Criteria
Judge for yourself:
Did Jesus fulfill ALL these criteria?
The Jewish tradition of "The Messiah" has its foundation in numerous biblical references, and understands "The Messiah" to be a human being - without any overtone of deity or divinity - who will bring about certain changes in the world and fulfill certain criteria before he can be acknowledged as "The Messiah".

PAMI:
Isaiah 9:6 (King James Version)
6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

MQ:
First of all, he must be Jewish - "...you may appoint a king over you, whom the L-rd your G-d shall choose: one from among your brethren shall you set as king over you."
(Deuteronomy 17:15) He must be a member of the tribe of Judah - "The staff shall not depart from Judah, nor the sceptre from between his feet..." (Genesis 49:10) To be a member of the tribe of Judah, the person must have a biological father who is a member of the tribe of Judah.

PAMI:
That Jesus was Jewish from the tribe of Judah, I think, is beyond dispute, both Joseph's line of descent in Matthew 1, and Mary's in Luke 3, reveal he descended from Judah. If he's not from the tribe of Judah, then what is he? Even those who crucified Him taunted Him by calling Him "The King of the Jews". In Mary's line, his grandfather "Heli" was Jewish from the tribe of Judah. And I don't understand why Joseph couldn't consider Jesus his legal son if he married Mary. Then, if as you suggest, Jesus isn't Deity, then Joseph most likely was His biological father. Of course I certainly have no doubts He is the Son of God. I don't agree with the following statement, but it was revealed to me that according to current Jewish laws to be a Jew you must have a Jewish mother, but not necessarily a Jewish father.
"According to Jewish law, a child born to a Jewish mother or an adult who has converted to Judaism is considered a Jew; one does not have to reaffirm their Jewishness or practice any of the laws of the Torah to be Jewish. " http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Judaism/whojew1.html

MQ:
He must be a direct male descendant of King David and King Solomon, his son - "And when your days (David) are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall issue from your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will make firm the throne of his kingdom forever..." (2 Samuel 7:12 - 13)

PAMI:
The eternal promise was to David, it was contingent to Solomon. Nathan also was a son of David. Coniah (Jeconiah), a descendent of Solomon, and heir to the throne, was cursed.
Jer. 22:24-30. Jeremiah 22:30 (King James Version) 30Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

MQ:
The genealogy of the New Testament is inconsistent. While it gives two accounts of the genealogy of Joseph, it states clearly that he is not the biological father of Jesus. One of the genealogies is through Nathan and not Solomon altogether!

PAMI:
Luke 3 is the geneology of Mary, her father was Heli, Joseph's father-in-law. Matthew 1 is the geneology of Joseph. In "THE RIGHTFUL KING" I went more into this.

MQ:
He must gather the Jewish people from exile and return them to Israel -"And he shall set up a banner for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." (Isaiah 11:12) Are all Jews living in Israel? Have all Jews EVER lived in Israel since the time of Jesus?

PAMI:
Jews have been returning to Israel since 1948, and even before that. I can't recall the scriptures exactly, but I don't think any say "all" Jews are going to return to Israel, if I'm wrong please show me the scripture.

MQ:
He must rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem - "...and I will set my sanctuary in their midst forever and my tabernacle shall be with them.." (Ezekiel 37:26 - 27)At last check, there is NO Temple in Jerusalem. And worse, it was shortly after Jesus died that the Temple was DESTROYED! Just the opposite of this prophecy! He will rule at a time of world-wide peace - "...they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." (Micah 4:3) Have you seen a newspaper lately? Are we living in a state of complete world peace? Has there ever been peace since the time of Jesus?

PAMI:
This is where the prophecies of Revelation 20-22 come in, Jesus has thousand year reign of peace in Rev. 20, followed by a brief skirmish, then on throughout eternity.

MQ:
He will rule at a time when the Jewish people will observe G-d's commandments - "My servant David shall be king over them; and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall follow My ordinances and be careful to observe My statutes." (Ezekiel 37:24) The Torah is the Jewish guide to life, and its commandments are the ones referred to here. Do all Jews observe all the commandments? Christianity, in fact, often discourages observance of the commandments in Torah, in complete opposition to this prophecy. He will rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one G-d - "And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, says the L-rd" (Isaiah 66:23) there are still millions if not billions of people in the world today who adhere to paganistic and polytheistic religions. It is clear that we have not yet seen this period of human history unfold. All of these criteria are best stated in the book of Ezekiel Chapter 37 verses 24-28: And David my servant shall be king over them; and they shall all have one shepherd. they shall also follow My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Yaakov my servant, in which your fathers have dwelt and they shall dwell there, they and their children, and their children's children forever; and my servant David shall be their prince forever. Moreover, I will make a covenant of peace with them, it shall be an everlasting covenant with them, which I will give them; and I will multiply them and I will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. And my tabernacle shall be with them: and I will be their G-d and they will be my people. Then the nations shall know that I am the L-rd who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary will be in the midst of them forevermore. If an individual fails to fulfill even one of these conditions, then he cannot be "The Messiah." A careful analysis of these criteria shows us that to date, no one has fulfilled every condition.

PAMI:
Again this is all in the future, Jesus rose from the dead, He's going to return to rule, and believe me when He reigns everyone will definately know there is an one eternal, Creator, God, in three person, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

MQ:
Certainly NOT Jesus.

PAMI:
Why not Jesus? It's all in the future for someone, Why not Jesus?

FAITH

Faith is a substance!
It isn't a dream.
Faith is the evidence
of things which aren't seen.
Faith is reality!
Faith opens wide
the door to the hopes
that are burning inside.
Faith moves the mountains
which stand in the way.
Faith is the answer
to each prayer we pray.
Faith is the shield
we use in the fight.
It's faith that we walk by
rather than sight.
Faith will be tested,
but faith will prevail.
Faith conquers enemies!
Faith will not fail!

CAUTION: WHAT'S INFLUENCING YOUR VOTE?

This post is directed to Christians, if you are not a Christian be forewarned that you will probably be offended by some of the things I will say in this post. Even some Christians may be offended.

November 7 we will be going to the polls. Many issues have been presented in the media in the past few years that have been an attempt to influence the makeup of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of our government. The media has subtly has been trying to influence the way you vote and how you think. Political parties are trying to influence you to vote their way. There have been a lot of lies and flagrant distortions of the truth by the media and certain political figures, Hollywood, etc. to get you to vote according to their agendas. I also want to influence your vote, and I'll tell you that up front, I'm asking you to VOTE TO SAVE AMERICA!

What kind of America do you want for yourselves and your families in the future? Do you want to continue to have control of your finances and choices, or do you want to give that responsibility to the government? There are some candidates who are advocates for bigger government, more regulations, higher taxes, and ultimately less freedom. America is a capitalist (free enterprise) nation, I was almost afraid to use the word capitalist because it has almost become a dirty word, but people from other countries are not trying to come to America because we are socialists, they have dreams of better lives, of starting their own businesses, and owning their own homes and property. We shouldn't take for granted what we have here, and be grateful that the government doesn't have more control over our lives than it already does.
http://www.capitalism.org/faq/capitalism.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitalism

The media tried to help the democratic party defeat President Bush in the last two elections but failed. They have helped to weaken his presidency by propaganda making him appear a liar concerning the reason we went to battle in Iraq and making people believe he is intellectually inferior to his democratic adversaries, and now they are trying to cripple him with their propaganda by helping give the house and senate to a democratic majority. There are decent democrats in office in Washington, but many who are trying to rise to greater political power seem to have ultra-socialist viewpoints.
so·cial·ism (ssh-lzm) n.
1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved.

http://freeagencyrules.blogspot.com/2005/12/whats-wrong-with-socialism.html

What I'm asking you to do as Christians is to learn about the candidates and what they stand for, pray and ask God for direction in who you should vote for, keep the future of our country in mind when you vote, look for candidates who have Godly principles. Be careful not to vote for candidates who will vote to take away your right to pray or read the bible in public places, who tend to vote for laws that violate the principles of God's Word, or who will nominate justices who more than likely will make decisions that will violate your rights and beliefs as Christians.

Our country has been greatly blessed but if we turn our back on God and treat Him as if He doesn't exist, if we forget how much He loves us, and allow our country to go in a direction contrary to the Word of God then we are in danger of the blessing of God being lifted from our country.

The media has made this election an indictment against the War in Iraq and they bring up every negative thing they can find to air or write about in order to influence the election.

WHY WAS PRESIDENT BUSH ELECTED?
Isaiah 55:9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
No one thought David would be the King of Israel, not even his own family, but God chose him as King and moved the circumstances to put him on the throne. Who would have thought a man who persecuted Christians, Saul, would be the Apostle Paul who wrote most of the new testament?

People prayed, Satan battled, but President Bush was elected. I believe with all my heart it was ordained by God that he would be elected as our President. Part of a reason may have been to fulfill prophecy about Iraq. Some prophecy scholars believe that Jeremiah 50 and 51 are prophecy about what recently happened in Iraq and what is yet to happen there.

ABOUT THE WAR IN IRAQ

I want to start by saying I hate that some of our young men and women are dying in Iraq, it tears at my heart everytime I hear of one of those deaths, but did President Bush really take us there through deception or was part of the reason he was elected to fulfill prophecy.
Jeremiah 50:9
9For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon (Iraq) an assembly of great nations from the north country (America and it's allies?): and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows (missiles) shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.
Jeremiah 50:43
43The king of Babylon (Saddam Hussein) hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

There was credible evidence Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. What happened to them? It is believed they were moved into Syria, and if so they will probably be used during the Tribulation period if not before.

The biggest mistake I think President Bush has made is that horrible Roadmap to Peace and his influence in getting Israel to give up their land.
Joel 3:1,2 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat (Jehovah will judge), and will plead with (indict) them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land. (My land they have divided.)
President Bush really began to lose popularity when he took part in influencing Israel to give up the Gaza Strip, people may think it was mainly because of Iraq, but it really began to plummet after this debacle in Israel. God Promised to bless those who bless Israel, we are asking for trouble if we don't:
Genesis 12 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
Genesis 12
1Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Pray for President Bush that God will give him greater wisdom in his dealings with Israel and that God will influence him in the tremendous decisions he has to make concerning how to lead our country, and that God will give him a congress and senate who will help him get his "God inspired" programs passed.

"Since its
establishment in 1948, the State of Israel has sought peace with its neighbors through direct negotiations. "

The following passage hasn't happened yet, the Antichrist will make a covenant with Israel shortly after the Rapture. It will be a false peace treaty.

Daniel 9:27 (King James Version)
27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (seven years): and in the midst of the week (about three and a half years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (The Antichrist breaks the treaty he makes with Israel after about three and a half years.)

THE RIGHTFUL KING

Last month I published a post to my blogsite titled "A Real Christian", it was very large so I want to take a small portion of that post and expand on it in this post, I feel it is very important and I didn't want it to get lost in a very large blog post.

God promised David that his descendent would sit on his throne forever:
2 Sam. 7:16
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
These scriptures were to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ:
Luke 1:32
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Jesus had a Jewish mother but not a Jewish father, God was His Father, but Mary had to be the one to give birth to Jesus because she was engaged to Joseph, and by the geneological line of descent from King David in Matthew 1, Joseph would be the rightful king of Israel and since Joseph married Mary, Jesus' mother, Jesus became Joseph's legal firstborn son (though not by blood), that meant Jesus would the the rightful heir to the throne, since Jesus had no offspring and rose from the dead, he is the last legal heir to the throne of Israel and will take His rightful place during the Millinium. Luke 3 records Jesus blood line of descent through Mary's ancestors. The line of descent of Kings through Solomon ended with Jeconiah who was cursed so that none of his blood seed would ever sit on the throne of Israel, with Shealtiel it appears the line of kings transferred to Nathan's decendents, Shealtiel and his offspring Zerubbabel, are included in the geneologies in both Matthew and Luke. From sources I read, it is presumed that Jeconiah of Solomon's lineage adopted Shealtiel of Nathan's lineage so that even though his blood seed would never sit on the throne a descendent of David through Nathan would. Supposedly according to some sources Shealtiel was married but died young without children, so his step brother Pedaiah, according to custom, married his widow and bore a child for Shealtiel, Zerubbable. In Luke 3 the line of descent after David was through Nathan, in Matthew 1, after David it started with Solomon, but with the supposed adoption of Shealtiel by Jeconiah, the blood line of the kings was transferred to the descendents of Nathan, that would mean both Joseph and Mary are descendents of David's son, Nathan. After Zerubbabel the geneologies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 diverge again, and Joseph descends through the royal line of Zerubbabel's offspring Abiud, and Mary descends through Zerubbabel's offspring Rhesa. In Luke 3:23, Joseph is actually the son-in-law of Heli, not his son. Matthew 1 starts Joseph's line with Abraham, Luke 3 starts Mary's line with Adam, Adam and his seed were given dominion of the earth, Jesus has the rightful claim to dominion on this planet because he descends from Adam.
Matthew 1:1-17 Luke 3:23-38

The throne mentioned in Luke 1:32 is not a throne in heaven but a throne on earth in the literal city of Jerusalem. That's why Satan is fighting so hard to possess Jerusalem. Jesus will actually reign on the earth, after His second coming, after He wins the Battle of Armageddon, through the entire Millenial period, after winning the battle of Gog and Megog, and forever.

The earth will never be destroyed entirely, there will always be natural people here though their bodies will be those Adam and Eve had before they fell. It will be renovated to get rid of the dross, so to speak, but God meant for it to last forever. In Revelation 21 it is revealed that the holy city, New Jerusalem will come down to earth, the two will be joined together and that God will dwell among us.

Mithraism?, the ancient cult that was in existence for four or five centuries, then fizzled out, that existed for a time simultaneously with Christianity (1), that has "very little literary evidence"(2) pertaining to it.

You ask most people on the street and they probably couldn't tell you what "Mithraism" is. I didn't know till I looked it up. Christianity on the other hand has been around for two millinium and is still thriving and spreading, and the Christ of Christianity is changing hearts, minds, and lives. You won't be able to convince a person whose life has been changed by Jesus Christ that it's a lie.

Mithraism contained no prophesies, if it did certainly no one knows about them now, the bible on the other hand (which contains the good news of Jesus Christ and his offer of Salvation to us), contains many prophesies that we are now reading about in our newspapers and seeing on daily news broadcasts.

You're a young man Christopher, I'm going to tell you about a prophesy in the bible, it says that not everyone is going to die. One day, most likely in your lifetime, and probably in the not too distant future, newspapers and newscasts will be reporting something like this "Millions Missing All Over The World". They'll probably say it's some new weapon that dematerializes people or conjecture that it's possibly alien abduction, if you're one of the people who are still here please don't believe that. It's a bible prophesy that Jesus Christ is going to take Christians who are ready off this planet before a terrible time called the Tribulation. I hope you are one who goes, not one here hearing and reading these reports. Think I'm a nutcase if you will, time will tell if this is true or not. If you are still here you will still be able to accept Jesus Christ as Savior, get in God's Word and find out the truth.

I prayed for you that God would "give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God." Ephesians 1:17 NLT.

A REAL CHRISTIAN

MY ANSWER TO BRIAN:

(Brian's comments are in black, my responses are in red, quotes are in green, and website links are in blue.) There are many informative links in this post, I encourage readers to click them on. Usually you can use your back page button to come back to this post.

When you speak of Christianity, you must remember that you are being corrupted by the Republican Party.

I proudly admit I am a republican by choice, I looked at the alternatives and that's what I decided was the best option for me. I feel we have a God ordained responsibility to vote, to care about what happens to the country God has blessed us with. I am deeply concerned with the direction the liberal media, liberal judges, politicians, Hollywood, the ACLU, etc. are trying to take this country. I want Christians to vote politicians into office in Washington who who will vote to protect our religious freedoms, who think all human life is precious and will vote to protect human life yet at the same time will defend the biblically based death penalty against those who do such malicious acts as murder other people. I pray for God to place men and women in the presidency and in congress and the senate who want to protect the true values of marriage, who believe in civil rights (the Republican Party was started by anti-slavery activists) and will enact laws against discrimination but will not enact laws more favorable to one race than to another, who will vote to give breaks to employers so that those employers in turn will be able to give greater benefits to their employees, who believe that the government is primarilly for the protection of the citizens and not a huge social welfare program, who will enact laws that will aid churches and other organizations carry out those types of programs, and above all else will continue to support Israel because that is the main reason God has blessed our country to begin with. If you were a farmer you wouldn't neglect your farm and just let grow there what will, you would carefully choose the seeds, you would cultivate the crops, and if something doesn't grow well you would stop planting those seeds and plant something else, in the same way you have a responsibility to vote, to attempt to get men in office who will keep this country going in the right direction.

Ihave to admit it is easier for me to submit to those in authority who are trying to follow Godly principles than those who are not.

Well let's see, I made Jesus Lord of my life and have confessed with my mouth that He is Lord, I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead, according to the bible (the Word of God)that makes me a believer (a Christian). Jesus bought and paid for me with His blood and I accepted His sacrifice. Well I'm a Christian all right.

"Conservatism is a philosophy defined by Edmund Burke as "a disposition to preserve, and an ability to improve".[1] The term derives from conserve; from Latin conservāre, to keep, guard, observe."

"In general, the conservative "right" believe that truth and justice can be achieved. The belief in "the truth" and that it can be known is what enables righteous thought and what motivates a conservative's individual and political positions. The belief in "the truth" will exclude all expressions of freedom that challenge this sense of truth and justice. "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism

Yep I'm a conservative.

I believe we ought to preserve our heritage of belief in God, that Christmas should be celebrated as the birth of Christ by Christians, that the symbols of our beliefs should not be removed from public buildings, etc. just because someone objects to them. We should guard our right to worship our God freely and talk about Him openly. I do believe in "the truth", which is the Word of God (the Bible), and truth and justice can be achieved by the principles in God's Word. I also believe that God's Word prevails over any other freedoms people think they are entitled to. For instance some people may think they have a right to say horrible things about people in authority because they have "freedom of speech", but the truth is: "10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption,"

There is no such thing as a Protestant Work Ethic.

I guess I've heard the phrase "Protestant Work Ethic" before, but I never bothered to look up what it meant until now:

Literature Houghton-Mifflin Company
Protestant work ethic
A view of life that promotes hard work and self-discipline as a means to material prosperity. It is called
Protestant because some Protestant groups believe that such prosperity is a sign of God's grace.

Wikipedia
Protestant work ethic
The Protestant work ethic, also known as the Puritan work ethic, is a biblically based teaching on the necessity of hard work, perfection and the goodness of
labor. Protestant preachers preached on the goodness and the necessity of labor and its efficacious effect for humans personally and on Christian society as a whole. Protestant preachers saw this as a salve or a correction for original sin.

10 ... for a worker is worthy of his food. Matthew 10:10 (New King James Version)

Psalm 128:2 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

1 Timothy 5:18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Of course we should all be aware that we are not saved by hard work, only by accepting Jesus Christ and what he did for us on the cross, but there are great benefits from our labour.

These are all ideas that Christ himself fought against.

I'm sorry, I just don't see that he fought against any of the principles above. There are many scriptures about the benefits and blessings of hard work.

Jesus believed the Word of God is "the truth", that's what He used to fight Satan. Read Matthew 4:1-11.

As for politics read: Romans 13:1-7, 1 Peter 2:13-14. Jesus didn't fight against the political authority of His day. In Luke 20:19-26, He could have told those trying to trick Him that He didn't have to pay tribute to Caesar, that He could ask the Father for 12 legions of angels to destroy the Roman Empire with it's entire army, as a matter of fact He could have done it by Himself and declared Himself King, but He didn't, instead He told them render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's. Jesus didn't fight against authority, He fought against spiritual blindness, and hardness of heart. He fought against the ideas of the Scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees who were so caught up in studying the law and trying to keep it to the letter that they had no real relationship with the God who gave them the law.

I am a very strong Orthodox Christian and I am so pleased to see entire Protestant congregations coming back to the Orthodox faith.

Our teachings do not involve politics or simple ideas like magical demons making us do bad things.

As I commented above, I believe that it is important that we are involved in politics, at least to the extent that we vote and pray that God give us Bible believing Christians as our political leaders and judges also for that matter and it is a blessing when godly Christian men and women win political offices.

As for demons, Jesus believed in them. Casting them out of people was part of His healing ministry. http://www.biblegateway.com/topical/topical_searchresults.php?resultsapp=25&source=1&search=demon&searchtype=all

Each person has it within himself the ability to choose right from wrong, that is our focus.

You are right, God gave us the ability to choose, but even Christians can be subject to deception. 1 Peter 5:8-9, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Ephesians 5:5-7, 2 Timothy 3:12-17, 2 John 1:5-9, Matthew 24:4-24.

Stop being a tool of the wealthy and become a real Christian. Use your Web Site to teach the true message of Christ and not the message of a War-dodging, Cocaine-Using, Drunk-Driving politician. (And I am not advocating for the Democrats).

A real Christian? The true message of Christ is : 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I've heard newscasters say of sexual predators that it is impossible for that kind of person to change, if that were the case we would all be in a hopeless mess. God sent Jesus to change hearts, minds, and lives. The person who may have once been "a War-dodging, Cocaine-Using, Drunk-Driving politician" once he accepts Chist becomes a new creature (a being that didn't previously exist), the old man is gone, God forgets all of his past sins and failures. He starts out in his life in Christ like a newborn baby. Romans 6:6, Ephesians 4:20-24, Colossians 3:9-10, Romans 12:2.

There is nothing wrong with being wealthy, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were wealthy, Job was wealthy, Moses grew up in a palace, David and Solomon were wealthy, Jesus had enough money that he needed a treasurer, Joseph of Arimathea who gave Jesus his tomb was wealthy. The Roman captain, Cornelius, was rich and gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God, therefore God sent Peter to him to share the good news of Jesus Christ with him. People with wealth can do great good for the kingdom of God. Some people get the idea God is against wealth because Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell everything he had and give his money to the poor, it wasn't because he had great wealth, but because his money was more important to him than his relationship with God.

Try putting this on your site:Humility is the greatest achievement of our mortal existence. To be humble is to serve dinner at a homeless shelter and never tell anyone about it. To be humble is to fast during the Great Lent and never complain or let anyone know you are doing it. Humility is donating money to a true Christian project anonymously.

3 (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.)

The verse above is from the book of Numbers, most bible scholars agree that Moses wrote the first five books of the bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, therefore Moses wrote the verse above about himself. He also wrote all the wonderful things we know about him in these books as well as his failures. Is this a contradiction? No! Moses realized that without God he was nothing and could do nothing. True humility is not hiding everything good that you do, but acknowledging that you would not be able to do anything good without God in the first place. You wouldn't even be able to breathe your next breath without God. If we never found out any of the great and wonderful things Christians do for the Lord where would our witness to the world be. Why would they want to be like us if they never find out we do anything good for anyone else. It is good at times to do good things anonymously, but it's not necessarily humility. We are not to make a show of doing good deeds just to be seen and praised by people. What we do we do for the glory of God and give Him the praise for it.

Consider this statement by Paul: 1 Corinthians 15:10-11 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society
10But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

Compassion for other human beings: The Jews in Israel need to be compassionate of the ones they occupy.

The Jews don't occupy the land, they own it. God gave it to them. He even commanded them to drive out the original "occupants". Genesis 17:7-8 (King James Version)
7And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

If you listen to the news, even our "politically correct" media say Israel has a right to defend herself. She has been under constant attacks from some of the current "occupiers" of her land. Israelites are compassionate, they don't want to hurt innocent people, but sometimes they have no choice when evil terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah use innocent people as human shields when they attack Israel.

God scattered Israel because of sin, but He said He would gather them back to the land He promised them, and He kept His Word. God does not lie and His promises are sure.

Please click on this link for a very interesting, informative, and insightful article by Billye Brim: http://billyebrim.com/bbm/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=59&Itemid=94

Read the scriptures carefully. If what you contend is correct, the Native Americans have the God-given right to kill you, your family and everyone around you!

The promise was never to any other nation or group of people but to Israel that they would be scattered all over the world and that he would gather them back to the land He promised them before the return of Christ. It's happening, not for any other nations or groups of people, just Israel, many are being driven from countries and returning home, others are returning of their own free will because God has given them a hunger and a desire to return to Israel. God is keeping His Word and the prophesies in the Bible are being fulfilled before our eyes. Can't you see the hand of God in this? I can.

When the Europeans came here to find freedom of religion, much of what happened to Native Americans is tragic and regretful. This country was wide open enough and there was enough room for everyone. But look at how blessed America has been. Now we are "One Nation Under God". American Indians, Europeans, Jews, Asians, Orientals, Hispanics, African Americans, Africans, etc., we all call this home. This has been the most blessed country on the face of the earth in recent history. I can see the hand of God in this as well. God blesses nations that bless the Jews. The following passage is about nations, not individuals, the nations that treat the Jews well and the nations that don't and the judgement they face: Matthew 25:31-46.

This is an interesting article: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/6-24-2006-100385.asp

Genesis 12:3 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The people of Israel are not God's favorites!

"Favorites" is not the right word, God doesn't have a favorite group of people, He loves Arabs, Americans, Chinese, etc. just as much as He loves the Jews. He loves each individual person equally. The word in the bible is "chosen". Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. God had, and still has special plans for them, He instructed them and revealed Himself to them. I can't think of a single book in the bible, with the exception of maybe Job, that was not written by a Jew, and Job may have been.

If you read the scriptures you will find that the descendents of Isaac were the Chosen ones. They were Chosen to bring about the Messiah.

Yes, the promise was to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), Judah, and on down that line.

This was because under Jewish tradition a child can only be considered Jewish if the mother is a Jew.

I had never heard this before and I looked it up and apparently mainstream and orthodox Jews do believe that in mixed marriages if the mother is a Jew the child is a Jew, but if a Jewish man marries a non-Jewish woman, the child is not a Jew unless he or she converts to Judaism.

Some concerns I have with this are there are a number of women in the geneology of Jesus Christ who are not Jewish, Rahab was from Jericho, Ruth was a Moabite, Naamah was an Ammonitess. All the men in the geneological lists in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 from Jacob (Israel) on are Jewish, but not all of the women who we know about, who married these men, are Jewish. As a matter of fact all the geneological lists in the bible are fathers and sons with very few women even mentioned.

Obviously Jesus had a Jewish mother but not a Jewish father, God was His Father, but Mary had to be the one to give birth to Jesus because she was engaged to Joseph, and by the geneological line of descent from King David in Matthew 1, Joseph would be the rightful king of Israel and since Joseph married Mary, Jesus' mother, Jesus became Joseph's legal firstborn son (though not by blood), that meant Jesus would the the rightful heir to the throne, since Jesus had no offspring and rose from the dead, he is the last legal heir to the throne of Israel and will take His rightful place during the Millinium.

Abraham had two sons, Isaac's mother was the Jew.

Abraham is called a Hebrew in the old testament, therefore since Sarah was Abraham's half sister as well as his wife, she was a Hebrew also. Abraham had eight sons, Ishmael, Isaac, and six sons by Keturah, presumably after Sarah died. The Israelites or Jews descended from Isaac. Isaac had two sons Esau and Jacob (later renamed Israel by God). Though Esau is Isaac's son his descendents are not Israelites or Jews. Jacob (Israel) had twelve sons. The twelve sons of Jacob make up the twelve tribes of Israel and their descendents are Israelites or Jews. The term Jew came into existence when the kingdoms of Israel and Judah split and was identified with Judeans, but gradually it came to be used to refer to all Israelites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jew#Jews_and_Judaism

Since the Messiah has come, the Jewish people have only the same favor of God that every other human has, they completed their mission.

As I mentioned before most Bible Scholars believe the Jews wrote every book in the Bible except perhaps Job, and a Jew may have written Job. Most books of the New Testament were written by Paul, a Jew. He didn't become an apostle till after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Saul he was devoted to destroying the church until he met Jesus on his way to Damascus to imprison believers, as Paul he became a great benefit to God's Kingdom. Jesus spent His entire ministry training twelve men (Jews) who would continue His work on Earth once he returned to His Father, even Judas was replaced with Matthew, another Jewish believer. Jesus entire ministry was to the Jews. Why would he waste his time training Jewish men and ministering to Jewish people if God was through with them. Why didn't Jesus go the the Gentiles to teach, preach and minister? Why would he concentrate on the Jews? In Matthew 15:24 He said "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." After Jesus' death His twelve disciples continued His work among the Jews, Paul and his associates began to work among the Gentiles. The difference is the Gentiles began to accept the the Good News of Jesus Christ the Messiah and most Jews now do not believe He is the Messiah.

Romans 3
1What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Romans 11:1-36 Romans 11:25-29 explains that after the fulness of the time of the Gentiles Israel will be saved, that God has a covenant with them and will take away their sins, and that God's gifts and call can never be withdrawn.

There are several other things you should consider about Christianity:1. December 25th was chosen as Christ's Birthday only because it was the day of a pagan sun god , Emperor Constantine's favorite God. 2. Roman Catholic Easter and Protestant Easter is faulty. How can you celebrate Easter before Jewish Passover? Passover is why Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem.

I agree with you, December 25th is most likely not Jesus birthday, I have heard it is January 6, sometime in September around Rosh Hashanah, and their are other theories, and we probably have the time of His resurrection wrong too, but the good thing is we celebrate His birth and His resurrection, even if on the wrong date. For some it's the only time they reflect on Jesus Christ and why He was born and why He died. It may also be a good thing we don't have the dates right, that way we don't pollute the real dates with our traditions and commercialism.

3. The bible was canonized under a suspense set by the Roman Emperor. Many books were left out due to the time-constraint.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

If God inspired all scripture don't you think He has the ability to make sure that everything He wants us to know gets in the book He gave us to instruct us and teach us about Him? Is God too limited to make sure we get everything we need? I don't think so!!!

4. The original sin is our knowledge of our own existence and our ability to create. It is representative of our own self-awareness, our ability to see ourselves as our own Gods. The original Sin has nothing to do with sex.

Speaking of Adam and Jesus Christ: Romans 5:19 (King James Version)
19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
The original sin was simply disobedience to God, and you are right, it had nothing to do with sex.

If you still don't believe what I have said, think about this... Every day the Bush Administration contacts the leader of the Evangelicals in America. This person, I forget his name and refuse to refer to him as a holy man, has a huge church, something along the lines of 20,000 members weekly. If you visit this church, you will find bookstores, coffee shops, food vending machines, investment literature, and all other kinds of money making ventures. He will tell you it is so that he can do God's work. But I want you to open your bible and read the passage where Christ himself turned over the tables of the merchants in the Temple.

The merchants and money changers were cheating people because they knew they had to buy the animals for sacrifices and could only use Jewish and Tyrian money in their temple worship. Churches today may have bookstores, libraries, etc., but people can come and go and never have to enter them, they are not required to purchase anything for worship, and if they do go in to purchase something and feel the price is too high they can walk right back out without it and no one is the worse for it.

BE ANGRY

Ephesians 4:26, 27 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27Neither give place to the devil.

Most ministers I've heard say that this verse means if you are angry with someone make things right before you go to sleep, don't let your anger become sin. That is good advise for most of the quirky things husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings, friends, etc. get angry about and can possibly save a lot of grief or even your relationship with the person. But I'm not sure that's exactly what Paul meant. Could it be that he meant it this way: Be angry about evil and injustice and don't sin by not being angry about these things, don't let your anger against these things diminish. Don't let the devil have his way.

Paul had times in his life when he was angry and his anger certainly lasted more than a day. Galatians 2:11-21 indicates that Paul was angry with Peter for hypocricy and when Peter came to Antioch Paul confronted him about it. In Acts 15:36-41 Barnabus wanted to take John Mark along with Paul and him as they traveled from city to city to see how the converts were doing where they previously preached, Paul didn't want to take Mark because he had earlier left them in Pamphylia and didn't go to minister with them, the contention over the matter was so great that Paul and Barnabus parted company. Later, however, we learn that Paul found John Mark to be a great benefit to the work of God.

Jesus even got angry. He was so angry with the money-changers, that He threw over their tables and drove them from the Temple. He was angry with the Scribes and Pharisees and called them hypocrits and "whited sepulchres". His opinion didn't change at nightfall before He went to sleep. His anger had purpose and healing potential. His anger had the ability to make wrong things right.

There are things that we need to be angry about. We should be angry when a child is molested, or an elderly person is scammed. We should be angry when someone takes someone elses hard earned belongings, we should be angry at murder. We should be angry when an innocent person is found guilty of a crime they didn't commit, or a guilty person is found innocent. I'm still angry that a jury awarded a woman a huge sum of money because she spilled hot McDonald's coffee on herself. There are a lot of things we ought to be angry about.

Some anger can even cause positive changes. John Walsh was angry that his young son was murdered and now has a program called "America's Most Wanted" that has brought hundreds of criminals to justice. MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Drivers) was created because of a mother's anger against a drunk driver that killed her child. Rosa Parks was a tired black woman on a bus who became angry when a white man demanded her seat and she refused to give it to him, this act of defiance is said to have galvanized the civil rights movement and change this country. Many laws have been created or changed because someone was angry and did something positive about their anger.

God often does things people don't understand, I believe many of us felt an urgency that President Bush had to be elected, that's why both his elections were fought so hard by our enemy, Satan, but God's will prevailed. Although I hate the battle in Iraq and want our young men and women to come home it may be, and probably was, that that conflict also was the will of God. Many prophecy scholars believe that Jeremiah 50 and 51 are prophesies concerning what we did and are doing in Iraq and what is yet to come there, and that Isaiah 50:31-32 refer to Saddam Hussein. I haven't studied this enough myself to say whether it really is or not, but a lot of it sure sounds like what happened there, for instance Jeremiah 50:9 states "For lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows (missiles, etc.) shall be as of a mighty expert man; none of them shall return in vain." This appears to pretty well describe the initial strikes in Iraq. God may have set President Bush in office because he is the one to fulfill this prophecy. President Bush may well be the last President our country has before the Rapture, for those of you who don't like him he'll more than likely be leaving here at the Rapture, and those who are left here can vote in whoever they like, if there will even be a President here after the Rapture. I love and respect President Bush despite how the media demonizes everything he does, but I do have one thing against him, his influence in Israel's affairs. No one, not our President or anyone else should be encouraging, or more likely strong-arming, Israel to give up any of their God-given land. President Bush's favorable ratings sharply declined after his role in Israel's decision to reliquish the Gaza Strip.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOD DOING?

Interesting, Just makes me wonder what (GOD) is doing about his jealousy, you say that Satan is fighting everyday, what does (GOD) do in this fight?? He depends on people like you to spread his word?? Why does he do NOTHING to spread his word? Why does he allow those who defy him to do so without punishment? How can a (GOD) who (loves) ALL OF US let horrible things happen EVERYDAY?

God created this world and everything in it, when he created Adam he gave him dominion on the earth. Adam and Eve failed when they listened to Satan's lies and brought a curse on themselves, their offspring, and the earth itself. Since God gave dominion to men He operates in this world through men, that's why Jesus was sent into this world as a human being, so that ultimately a human without sin will regain dominion of this planet. God still does marvelous, miraculous things for us, but he requires that we pray for those things, or that we take our authority in Christ and claim those things (not necessarily material things, but material things are included). God gave us a book, the Bible, to teach us how to draw close to Him and depend on Him for help. God can avert those "horrible things that happen EVERYDAY" if we ask Him to or take our authority over them, but not unless we do. Since we have dominion on this planet God also gave those who accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord the responsibility to share with others how they can be saved from the destruction awaiting all those who reject salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Satan also operates here through human beings, he works through them and the curses that were brought into this world through sin, but don't be deceived, God does not allow those who defy Him to do so without punishment, that day is coming, but GOD IS LOVE and He is longsuffering toward us and He gives us every opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour so we will never have to face that day.
